It goes by many names, certainly isn’t new to the world of desserts but my girlfriend introduced us to this positively ADDICTING dessert awhile ago and my family LOVES it…so much in fact that I only make it on the weekend so we can devour it and be done with it…because I have NO.  SELF.  CONTROL.  None.  Serious talk people.

so here it is:

Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil (coming up HIGH on the edges to contain the soon-to-be boiling caramel lava mess)

Spread out saltines in even rows

Melt 1 cup of butter and 1 cup of brown sugar until boiling, stir constantly

Pour over saltines and bake for about 5 minutes @ 375degrees

When it comes out sprinkle with a bag of chocolate chips

Spread back and forth, back and forth, back and forth until melted

Freeze until solid

Break into chunks and enjoy
