the middle of the month of May?!?!?

POOF. Let me blow off the dust and cobwebs on this site. Even the website had a pop-up short tutorial in case I forgot how to blog. Wow.

Let’s get on with it shall we?

We last left off in the month of February and that means I was well into my weekly women’s group for skiing. Once a week, I joined a beautiful group of ladies at a small mountain 45 minutes south of us to improve my skiing and put some fear on the back burner so that I could actually enjoy our time on the slopes. Funny how working in a Trauma 1 center can suck the joy out of almost any outdoor activity—so I needed to rein that in and grab some confidence. And so to cut to the chase, I did indeed grab that confidence by the scruff and she is now mine. I was able to enjoy many days at several mountains over the last few months of skiing with hubs and friends. Game changer!! I’ll likely go again next year to boost my skill level.

The remainder of our winter consisted of finished our BIG kitchen project. At this point, we are still waiting on our backsplash to be completely finished, but it is safe to say this project was a huge success! More pics to come once completed. While waiting on the backsplash to arrive, Hubs built us a front porch overhang so that we have a little respite from rain and snow when coming into the house. We’ve had a ton of rain and this has been a fabulous addition. He also jazzed up the door that comes into the kitchen from the mud room/porch with an antique window to replace the scratched fiberglass business that existed before. This was a project I didn’t even know we needed and WOW, were we happy with the final product.

In looking back at my photos of the last few months, I’ve been stepping more into the moment and leaving my phone behind more frequently. Good for life and not so great for blogging. Hahaha

Seriously though. Another birthday has come and gone and I’m really leaning into trying to find work/life balance and enjoying the little NH life of ours. Our kiddos continue to spread their wings with one moving to St. Louis next month, another returning to school in Gainesville, one getting his groove on in his new career, and another embracing fatherhood and family life. Lots of changes, plane rides, FaceTime and phone calls. This is life right now. Not bad, just different. So. We’ll work on continuing to embrace this season and keep on keeping on with our adventures.

This season=out running the black flies for the next month or so on our bikes. Hitting the trails possibly sporting bug nets or not and I am DETERMINED to cross off a few 4000 footers this summer. Cruising on our paddle boards in the ponds/lakes and rivers always on the lookout for my favorite loons!

Until next blog. And I’ll try and do better on pics!

Peace!

7 and splendid!!!

7 days of blogging…DONE!  Thanks for the fun, Jen!

This weekend is a perfect reason why people move to Florida.  Just spectacular!!!  My genuine apologies to those of you still surrounded by snow, mush, more snow to come, hopefully you’ll enjoy a little glimpse of spring/summer here and perhaps….PERHAPS…..it might be enough to propel you through.

Honestly, though….I don’t know how you do it.  Hubby would love to move to New Hampshire in a hot second…me?  I’d love to visit and would even consider a “2nd home” (LOL)…but live?  No.  Can’t do it.  Listen, it’s already pretty consecutively in the 70s here and I put the flannel sheets and fleece blanket on under the heavy comforter.

Again.  Thin blood.  I’d die.  OK, enough bellyaching.

Off to the produce store before I pick up the girls from their Religious Ed classes…no dillydallying!!

A brief message from our Homily this morning from our priest…”God loves us for WHO we are to Him, not what we do.”  Stuck with me.  Sticking with me.

And the ever-present always-hopeful-reminder:

Matthew 6:34

Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself.
Sufficient for a day is its own evil.”

Happy Sunday!
