We rounded up the long weekend with some family and friend time, swimming, cooking out and completely exhausting our children. (Well, the oldest one skated with his friends all day and exhausted himself and the 13 yo participated and then went home to finish his project due on Tuesday……4 hours later….oy, so glad this school year is almost over!!)

May-hem…the gardening version
Friday again and that brings us to Jen (who’s got a publisher!!!!!! for her book!!!!) and her peeps. Can you say book tour??? Yes. Yes, I can!! Of course, let’s let her enjoy her newborn and finish up this crazy little month of MAY!
And with the craziness of May…what WAS I thinking of pulling off the annual “Every day in May” blog-a-thon again? I totally and completely retract that post, statement and thought. It’s been a big fat FAIL, in fact, this QT is basically consisting of photos of our garden and spring in full bloom here. Check ’em out and if you have some tips for us…throw ’em out in the comment section…(I do LOVE some comments) because we are mostly winging it in the gardening arena!!!
Without further ado about nothin’…..our garden (otherwise known as “Who knew Hubby had a green thumb” AKA “How will we know when it’s ready for harvest”). Enjoy!

We’re not even sure WHERE the broccoli is going to show up. Another fun experiment, because we can eat some broccoli around here!!

Disregard the weeds that we need to yank, but that isn’t grass folks….and sadly, I don’t really remember WHAT kind of onion it was….I’m leaning toward green onion, because I do enjoy those. Hmmm, time will tell.

No explanation needed. These did well last year. We got a little flooding last weekend and spotted a few (unwelcome) visitors, so they’ll be getting the Sevin treatment tomorrow….and hope for the best!

check out those ITTY, BITTY oranges!!!! First year we’ve had ANY sign of life out of this tree. Super excited!!

My hydrangea!!! First year of blooms since I planted it two years ago!!! Looks like the flowers will be pink! LOVE. THIS. PLANT!!
And so that was more than 7….I know….it’s been a long week! Thanks for humoring me 🙂
Have a blessed weekend !!
Everyday in May…sorta.
My super-de-duperty creative and brilliant friend, Lea who has been blogging for several more years than I….has for several years had a theme of “Blog every day in May”. I’ve participated in the past 3 years and somehow………
it is May 9th!!!!!!!!!! WHAT?!?!?!?!?
and she called me today to remind me that NEITHER of us has begun the annual blog-fest and promptly directed me to her blog to see what she did to rectify that situation. Yep. The woman done went and CAUGHT UP!!! So now….my goal-oriented-task-driven-competitiveness has kicked in. I won’t even bother to back track. Serious talk. Too tired. BUT…..I did blog last Friday and for us, weekends are a kind of bonus, so I’ll start now. So go ‘head…”follow”, add me on Bloglovin’, follow on the Twitter…whatever you need to do and git ready! Because I’d really like to celebrate with some blackberry grits and tea with Lea after this!!
And so here’s the deali-O…if you are blogging everyday in May…leave a comment and we can check it out and spread the word. I’ll leave a little list at the bottom of this post of some other bloggers doing the same. OK, OK, just one for now…but let me know if you’re blogging every day!! If I REALLY get ambitious I’ll put a sidebar with May bloggers to make it easy…no promises, just dreams of grandeur.
It’s really just wrong we do this anyway…. I mean…it’s MAY! The busiest month of the year….truly. Even December…baby Jesus’ birthmonth isn’t as stressful as end-of-year wrap up, testing, recitals, First Communion, birthdays, Mother’s day, etc, etc, etc! But hey, if a little writing and reading gets us through….blog on we shall!
Rachel Balducci @ Testosterhome…..got boys? lots of ’em? and a princess? She does, too!!! And stories abound. AND she even wrote a book!!
Blue one. Red one. Black and blue arm @ the VW fest…
Generally on Sundays after Mass, our girls usually have Religious Ed and so, rather than go home and come back, I bring my walking clothes and get a good 45 minute or so walk in. Today on my walk around our City Circle I was surprised to see a VW festival gathering of sorts going on. I heard the music LOOOOOOOONG before I saw the VWs EVERY. WHERE. I walked with a smile; not because we own a VW but because my Hubby went through a VW phase in college. First with a pale blue beetle and later with a VW Bus. I hated both of them. I was always afraid I was going to get dirt on me, there was no A/C and they were LOUD. Ick. However, I smile because he loved those cars (the bus more than the car) and they had some funny stories attached to them involving fraternities, road trips, steep roads and a line of traffic, among others. Given a choice, I am willing to bet my Hubs would love another one….given sufficient fundage, I’d say…go for it, sweets. Enjoy the pics, it was a great 45 minute walk!
WIWS…Spring has sprung!
Sunday Mass fashion sharing with the masses @ Fine Linen and Purple…here we go!!!!!
Another weekend of a dress you haven’t seen on me here yet….exciting stuff, right?? With jewelry you may or may not have seen and if you look REALLY carefully you can see my budding herbs in the background. My favorite time of year!!!
I’m including my female mininons this week, too….since they are always so helpful with the photo shoot and all. The menfolk around here generally shun the camera or photobomb or make ridiculous faces….so they’re out! This week anyway….

Bracelet gift from my mom a few years ago, ring you’ve seen this one before and funky necklace a thank you gift from a neighbor for cat sitting.

Our oldest girl and her VERY purple shoes (Kohl’s) and matching hair bow (farmer’s market) and Aeropostale dress (thrifted) with my (Kohl’s) sweater.

Youngest diva sporting her Kohl’s blingy flip-flops, and hand me down dress and cardi and a hairbow stolen from Mimi long ago!
